The Hop On Hop off Bus Tour throughout Dublin is a great idea! We did it our first day when we were still a little jet lagged, and it was a perfect way to see so many cool things throughout the city and figure out where we wanted to start the next day. It also gave us the ability to see more than we were actually able to do on our visit. We then were able to use the bus the next day to get to the places we wanted to go! On top of that, the drivers were so friendly and helpful. At least two of them we're hilarious as well! A great way to get yourself acquainted with the city.
